RE: MMOOOOOOOO Cake!

Eric, most Dutch oven recipes are based on a 12" Dutch oven. However, you can easily adjust the recipe to fit the oven you're using. I have four ovens that I regularly use. Two 12" (6 Qt.) ovens, one 10" (4 Qt.) oven and a 9-1/3 Qt. oven. All my ovens are made by Camp Chef, and I really like the quality AND price of their products. I have three kids with hollow legs, so when I'm making a dinner or meat dish, I use the 9-1/3 Qt. If I'm making dessert or a side dish, I'll use the 10". If I'm making a double dessert or potatoes, I'll use the 12". It all depends on what I'm cooking. Thank you!

RE: MMOOOOOOOO Cake!

We keep talking about getting a dutch oven, but haven't done it. What size is the most common? Should we get a 10" or 12"? Thanks! Eric

RE: Economy and HTT Pricing

Yes, they can't lose money - If I were a dealer I would not sell below my cost or sell so cheap that I couldn't pay my bills. What is needed are some incentives from the manufacturer, so the dealer doesn't have to take the hit. Then again, the manufacturer is in the same boat. I'm in the market for a TT and I'm finding the same situation as you. I don't want to contribute to the demise of a dealer because I want them around for service after the sale. On the other hand I want a good deal!

RE: Search within results

I've been looking at the search within results since yesterday, when the it was returning all posts. For example, if an original research returned 100 matches, then a search within results for anything would return 100 matches, even when it should be 0. Tonight, for me, it is working as it should. Here is what I get when I search for 'hybrid' and then for 'tent.' http://i33.tinypic.com/w1b3bo.jpg Note: Generally, I will get more hits than members because I see a couple of forums that members don't. I will continue to monitor and will alert the technicians. Tom OK if it's working for some and not others, I decided to check browsers. I tried IE6 and it works exactly as you said it would, I get the same results you do. I typically use Firefox 3 and it does not work properly, it works as my previous post. I recently downloaded Google Chrome, I tried that tonight and it does not work properly, it works as my previous post. It looks like a browser issue, what are you using Tom? Thanks for looking into it. Eric

RE: Search within results

seems to be broken. Any search returns zero records. I noticed that too, I'm in RV.net and if you do a search in the search box above, for example I just searched "hybrid" there are over 4000 results, then in the box at the top of the page where it says search within results, I typed in "tent" and it went to the main page of the forum with no results. I have done this with a variety of searches with the same result. I think there might be a bug. Eric

RE: Gmail

My wife and I use gmail, I like it but she doesn't. I have to admit though that when there is a lot of back and forth between multiple people it does get a little confusing. I'm the Pack Committee Chairperson for a local cub scout pack and when I send an email out to the whole pack and get a ton of replies its sometimes challenging to follow them all in gmail. In addition to using it online I also have my gmail account set up in outlook. When I start to get confused, I open outlook because it handles it like traditional email.

RE: Fuel prices (what the heck?????)

Here in Greensboro, the prices jumped too but also the local television station was interviewing a gas station owner that said he was notified that his next shipment will cost him $5.11. If the owner has to pay $5.11, I don't want to know what he's going to charge consumers.

RE: All-Digital TV

Yes, it has been discussed quite a lot, but it's OK that you asked again. I struggle with the search function sometimes too. If you have not requested your two allotted government coupons yet, do that. When you get it, go and buy an analog to digital converter for your old TV. Your antenna will work just fine. You also have the option of buying a new TV, I read somewhere that there is a surplus in the pipeline of LCD TV's and prices should be coming down in the next month or two. Even though I bought a converter I may go and get a new TV if the savings is significant enough. Good Luck, Eric

RE: Trade-In Value

I'm in the same boat with my Starcraft, the trade-in offer was about $10,000 with similar results when searching NADA. If you do a search on the forum you'll find that the low NADA without options is usually the best you'll get. In my case, my wife wants to do a private sale and get more money but honestly I don't want the hassle. It will come down to how badly I want the new trailer we're interested in. Right now we've spent so much time analyzing the deal that we haven't done anything: "paralysis by analysis." Not sure how we're going to proceed. Good Luck with your decision. Eric

RE: HELP - I'm getting spammed by the thousands

I use gmail and outlook express. You said you were using Gmail with Outlook Express so I searched gmail help and found this: You're receiving bounces for messages you never sent. If the messages that appear to be sent from your address are bouncing back to you, please note that many spammers use software applications to generate random lists of email addresses at common domains, based on words in the dictionary. Spammers then use these lists to send illegal mass mailings. This practice is called 'dictionary spamming.' If you receive a reply to a message you never sent, you may be the victim of a 'spoofing' attack. Spoofing means faking the return address on outgoing mail to hide the true origin of the message. Many of the addresses randomly generated by dictionary spammers are invalid. If a spammer spoofs your Gmail address to send dictionary spam, you will likely receive reports of delivery failures, which appear to be replies to message sent from your address. We are concerned about this activity and ask you to report these messages by checking the box next to the unwanted message and clicking Report Spam at the top of your inbox, or by opening the message and clicking Report Spam at the top of the message. You can help stop spammers by also sending a copy of these unlawful messages to the Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov. If you feel that you may be a victim of identity theft, we suggest contacting your local authorities. The same thing happened to me and it will stop. If in fact your email address was spoofed as it sounds, taking it to a computer repair shop would be a waste of money and time because its not a problem with your computer. Good Luck, Eric

RE: HELP - I'm getting spammed by the thousands

Sounds like some one has spoofed your email address. They are sending emails from another source and attaching your email address as the sender. I have had this happen before. If you can stand to ride it out as in my case after a short time it will stop. More information here. Bill Ky is right, there may not be a virus, it may just be someone has spoofed the email address. I use gmail and have had it happen. Most viruses used the contacts in your Outlook contacts to send emails. If this was a virus, all of the email would have been sent to the OP's contacts and probably would not have bounce back as undeliverable since he probably has good email addresses in his contact list. The fact that there are thousands of emails coming back to him means that his email address was used to send a LOT of email from another source. Don't over-react to it - it will stop. Notify the ISP that provides your email.

RE: How do we find the smaller CGs??

I was ready to give you a great CG, but then you said it has to be in Georgia. But Ok -- if you are curious and can make a trip to NC someday I'd encourage you to try Mountain Stream RV Lucy Lucy, we decided to go to Mountain Stream based on your previous recommendations and we're at Mountain Stream right now for 10 days. We love this campground, you have to stop recommending it, I want to be able to come back here and if you keep recommending it, I might not be able to get a reservation in the future! Seriously, Thank you, its perfect. Eric

RE: Yuck Bunk End Latch

What a suprise first off mine are starting to look bad. So today I called Starcraft since Lovedays posted the number I called them but the lady that answered the phone said since I was not a dealer that I would have to go through my local dealer. So I called them and they started looking into it but I also called Forest River since I have a Shamrock 21SS and got the answering machine so I left a message. 1/2 hour later a young lady called from Forest River Parts department. While I was talking to her I emailed her and sent her a link to this thread. Once she saw what I was talking about she stated she had not seen this before and had to agree for a 2 year old camper this should not be happening. WHen I asked how much the parts would be she asked how many I needed and I said 4. She said she would mail them out later on today and when I again said how much she said she would take care of it. She is also going to send the link to they're development department and see if they can come up with a solution to this problem. So my hat is off to Forest River for standing by what they sell!!! I'm sorry you had difficulty with Starcraft but I'm glad you had success with Forest River. We've been looking at upgrading from an HTT to a TT, maybe I should take a closer look at Forest River. RE: Finally found a WiFi solution

Looks like someone might be trolling for business. I doubt if the topic last very long. I think you're right, I did a google search, there is an article about an Andreas Uriarte (Screen name: Auriarte and he signed the post Andy)being honored at the same time as Curtis MacDonald, the founder and chief technical officer of hField Technologies Inc. Both attended Lehigh University in PA where the OP says he is and hfield is located there too. I must be really bored right now, I think I'll go find something constructive to do. I'm embarrassed that I have nothing better to do at the moment. Lovedays, I apologize for the misunderstanding and the skepticism, your research is accurate, however your assumptions are not. I am an avid RV'er and have been since the early days with my family. Coincidentally, I heard about the WiFire through my time at Lehigh and tried it out on one of my recent outings. I have no affiliation with hField and am merely sharing my experiences with a new product. -Andy I apologize to you Andy. I should not assume. I have seen many people join and their first post is to try to sell us something. Usually we never hear from them again. I hope you stay part of the forum and ask questions as well as contribute as you did. Your post sparked a discussion on a topic that is important to a lot of people. Sincerely, Eric

RE: AVG 8.0 Tying up computer during scan??

My desktop slows down dramatically when its scanning with AVG but I don't have the problem on my laptop. I haven't really paid much attention because I leave the desktop on at night and schedule the scan for the wee hours of the morning.
